New Life Foundation

The NLF is a community based organization committed and dedicated to giving back to communities. NLF concentrates on serving the inner-city communities with a focus on youth at risk. The NLF connects donors and volunteers to the areas of greatest need within these communities and manages projects that lead to more vibrant and stable communities.

OUR PROGRAMMES

DISTRIBUTION

With aid from the Food for the Poor organization (our main contributor) we continue to supply food, clothing and household items to thousands of persons from the various Inner-City Communities within the surrounding areas.

We also host an annual Christmas day to benefit these communities.

HEALTH

• Health Fair- Health Fair Sponsored by Ministry of Health

• Wellness Programs- Talks and forums on healthy lifestyles

• Adoption of the Spanish Town Hospital

EMPLOYMENT

• Placement Services- Keeping our communities abreast of job opportunities through our networks.

• Job Readiness Course- One day course with the following topics:

  • Proper decorum and conduct on the job

  • Development/Enhancement of resume

  • Interview Prep-Mock interviews

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

• Music Classes

• Food Preparation

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

• Counseling

• Motivational Speaking Sessions

• Mentorship- Mentorship program where students are assigned Christian mentors. Mentorship Meetings held once per week.

INCOME EARNING OPPORTUNITIES

• Yearly Essay Competitions with sponsored cash prizes

• Yearly ‘Yes We Can’ Symposium- Show case of products developed by inner-city youths put on display and for sale.

SPONSORSHIP/ AID

• Sponsorship for entire families in the areas of food, clothing and shelter

• Academic scholarships

• Educational grants and aid: books, tuition, lunch money, bus fare

• Fundraising for community outreach projects
