Based on a vision and mandate given to General Overseer Andrew Wayne Steele, the Jamaica Road Friendly Campaign was launched. There have been countless accidents and fatalities on the roads of Jamaica. From the length and breadth of the island, many lives have been lost due to reckless driving, poor lighting on roads and vehicles, inadequate markings, pothole ridden roads, lack of proper road signage and slippery road surfaces. Children, teenagers and adults have not been spared from near death experiences, hospitalization and even death. Even foreigners coming to Jamaica to enjoy our sand, sea and sun have also met their demise. The mandate of the Jamaica Road Friendly Campaign is to reduce accidents and fatalities on our roads by encouraging all drivers to drive friendly and safely. Learning to wait and be more courteous to other road users goes a long way.
