WHAT WE BELIEVE.
CORE BELIEF
-
The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, and are the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for doctrine (2 Timothy 3:16).
-
We believe in the one ever-living, eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father in creation; through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation (I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6; II Corinthians 5:19; Joel 2:28).
-
Jehovah the one true God of the Old Testament, took upon Himself the form of man, and as the Son of man, was born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose from the dead and ascended into heaven. As Paul says, "and without controversy great is the mystery of Godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (I Timothy.3:16).
-
He dwells in the hearts and lives of everyone who believes and obeys the Gospel, as the Sustainer, and Keeper regenerating the life of the believer and giving them the power to live above sin. (Acts 1:8; John 14:16-26; Romans 8:9-11).
-
Man is spirit, soul and body created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore lost. Only through obeying the scriptural plan of salvation can he be regenerated and obtain eternal life.
-
The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only biblical ground for justification and salvation for all who believe. We believe in the biblical plan for salvation: Repentance, Baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:38, John 3:1-9)
-
The imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our hope and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
-
There will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead; of the believers to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbelievers to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
-
The true Church is composed of all such people, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.
